Spring/Summer Class Schedule for 2009

Artistic Stenciling Techniques - Basic $75
Sat    Apr 11 10am – noon Wed  May 13 10am – noon Sat   July 11  10am – noon Wed  Aug 19 10am – noon	This class is perfect for the beginner or to update your existing skills. You will learn the Artistic Stenciling Technique from the basics including proper use of light to create highlights and shading. You will be able to create that “hand painted” look found on so many decorative items. The stencil used in class is yours to take home for practice and projects.

Dimensional/Relief Stenciling $75
Sat      Apr 11 1pm – 4pm Wed   May 13 1pm – 4pm Sat     July 11 1pm – 4pm Wed   Aug 19  1pm – 4pm	Learn the secrets of how to create a raised image on a wall or other surface. This class also teaches you not only how to texture your walls (skip trowel) but you will also learn a faux finish.  This combination can transform any area from the ordinary into spectacular.  It is also great for creatively covering a damaged wall.

Wood Icing $125

Sat May 23 10am – 4pm Sat Aug 1 10am – 4pm

This class is all about transforming and/or resurfacing walls, furnishings or cabinetry that needs lots of work or just a cosmetic update. Refinish your kitchen or bath cabinets with minimal prep work and without having to strip off old paint or varnish. You can update plain/boring cabinets and/or furniture by adding a raised design.  Add allover texture or stencils to increase architectural interest. Finally top it with new designer color and seal. Remember, the biggest returns on your real estate investments happen in kitchens and baths.

Embellished Ornamentation & Molded Elements $125

Your Faux’n Now (Basic Faux) $100
Sat Apr 4 9am – 12:30pm Sat Jul 25 10am – 1:30pm	This hands-on class for the Do-It-Yourselfer opens up the world of basic decorative finishes. Learn eight to ten professional finishes using the best products and tools. The applications will vary from monochromatic to multiple color usage. Step by step instructions and color guide is included.

Traditional Venetian Plaster I $75
Wed Apr 22 3pm – 5pm Sat Jul 25 2pm – 4pm	This class teaches the elegant, rich technique of traditional Venetian Plaster.  Learn how to build texture, depth and beauty in a time honored finish.

Poppies & Faux Papers $100
Sat Apr 4 1pm – 4pm Sat Jun 27 1pm – 4pm	Learn the art of mixed medium projects plus some faux paper techniques. Fuse custom wallpapers from tissue and torn papers with a mix of hand painted art, plasters and paint to be used on a walls or canvas. Learn the techniques from color selection to installation.

Learn to transform your home both interior and exterior using the ultimate concrete overlay system. Personalize you space from walls, floors, countertops and more to achieve almost any desired look. With a little imagination you can create a new custom look over your existing laminate, stone or tile.  You will learn how apply color, use “Modellos” stencils, create the perfect texture and learn how to create custom edge designs.

Old World Finishes $150
Sat May 2   10am –  4pm Sat Aug 8  10am – 4pm	Learn the finishes that compliment the Old World style or our rugged Colorado region - what Colorado Elegance is all about.  This class is all about pairing color, layering in texture with the right plaster to create the designer looks. You will work with multiple plasters, embedded artwork, multi color glazing treatments and more…

Marbleizing & Faux Bois (Wood Graining)  $150
Sat May 9 10am – 4pm Wed Jul 29 10am – 4pm	Learn how to create the appearance of Marble from the preparation to the finishing of the surface. Then, we will focus on learning the artistic imitation of Wood Graining.  You will learn multiple techniques using only water based products that will become a mainstay of your portfolio. All products and finishes used can be interior/exterior, on walls, furniture, cabinetry and more.

Classic Furniture & Cabinetry Workshop $350
Fri & Sat May 15 & 16 10am – 4pm Fri & Sat Aug 14 & 15 10am – 4pm	This class will teach you “classic” European inspired looks that are so popular today. You will learn by working directly on multiple types of wood grains to experience their differences. You will learn proper preparation, use of a HVLP sprayer, unique painting, gilding, staining and plastering techniques including distressed finishes, hand painted and stenciled accents.

Practical Color Theory  & Working with Color $150
Wed Mar 25  10am – 4pm Sat   Sep 12  10am – 4pm	This is a day about color – how we see color, reactions, uses, design forecasts and accessorizing including use of a color wheel. Learn how to make the right color choice. Come join us and expand your understanding and abilities to work with color.

Customizing Your Home for Less $200
Sat Jun 6 10am – 4pm Sat Aug 22 10am – 4pm	Create your own customized designer look for your space. Learn the basics that have been made famous by designers like how to create balance and harmony with color and patterns. Learn advance techniques like Allover patterns and Fabric Stenciling that will help you transform ready-made items into designer custom accents with some time and paint.

Taste of Tuscany $100

This look is great for all of us that love the “old world” warmth and charm.  Please note that Basic Stenciling is a prerequisite for this class. You will learn how to combine many techniques (i.e. troweled texture, multi color glazing, free form stenciling using multiple overlays, highlighting and shading) to create that perfect “Villa” Look.  This look translates best in kitchens and wine tasting rooms as well as outdoor living spaces.
